Giants' Denard Span: Remains out Saturday

Span (neck) remains out of the lineup Saturday against the Diamondbacks, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Analysis:

Gregor Blanco will be afforded another opportunity to lead off with Span still dealing with a bout of neck soreness. Span is coming off his worst month of the season in June (.590 OPS) and there was a suggestion that he dealt with a similar neck issue earlier this season, but the team has not given any indication that the 32-year-old is in immediate danger of landing on the DL.
