Yankees' Alex Rodriguez: Out of lineup Friday

Rodriguez is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Padres, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Analysis:

This absence could be seen coming a mile away, as Rodriguez has not played the field at all in 2016 and the Yankees are in San Diego this weekend. It would not be a surprise if Rodriguez sat out the entire interleague series with the DH unavailable. Rodriguez has found himself on the bench more of late even when the team does have the DH, having failed to kick it into gear after a dismal start to the season.
