Yankees' Mark Teixeira: Knee still sore, should play Thursday

Teixeira's knee is still a little sore, but he should be back in the lineup Thursday, ESPN's Wallace Matthews reports.

Analysis:

He was held out of Wednesday's lineup as a joint decision between Teixeira and manager Joe Girardi. It sounds like he will need semi-regular days off going forward in order to manage the knee, or in Teixeira's words, he'll "be on the operating table." Rob Refsnyder has been the go-to fill-in at first base, and will start there and bat ninth Wednesday.
