Phillies' Edubray Ramos: Future closer?

Manager Pete Mackanin said Ramos "has the stuff and demeanor to be a closer," Mark Brown of CSN Philadelphia reports.

Analysis:

Ramos has not given up a run in three appearances since his promotion from the minors. He has a 5:1 K:BB in 3.1 innings. Jeanmar Gomez is locked in as the Phillies' closer, but he will be on the trade block next month with the Phillies looking toward the future. Ramos could be in the mix to take over closing duties if Gomez departs, but Hector Neris and David Hernandez would also be options if they are not traded next month.
