Athletics' Jed Lowrie: Sitting out Sunday

Lowrie is out of the lineup Sunday against the Angels, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Analysis:

Though he's a switch-hitter, Lowrie has been comparatively worse against left-handers this season, failing to produce an extra-base hit in 49 plate appearances against them. With southpaw Hector Santiago on the hill for the Angels, Lowrie will bow out of the lineup and afford Arismendy Alcantara a turn at the keystone.
