Reds' Brandon Finnegan: Strikes out eight in loss to San Diego

Finnegan (3-6) allowed three runs on five hits, struck out eight and walked three over 6.2 innings in a loss to the Padres on Saturday.

Analysis:

After just one punchout versus Houston in his last outing, the lefty was able to rebound in the strikeout department, but he still allowed three runs, one of which was a solo homer by Padres pitcher Drew Pomeranz, who actually had two of San Diego's five hits and two of the team's three RBI. Finnegan threw 65 of his 110 pitches for strikes and now owns a 3.83 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 67 strikeouts in 94 innings. His next start will be Thursday versus Washington.
