Nationals' Joe Ross: No-decision despite quality start Wednesday
Ross didn't factor into the decision versus the Dodgers on Wednesday, surrendering seven hits, two earned runs and a walk over 6.1 innings. He struck out five.
Analysis:
It was another strong outing for the 23-year-old, who produced his fifth quality start in the last six trips to the mound. Ross was able to induce double-digit swinging strikes (10), but did give up a homer for the fourth straight appearance when Corey Seager took him deep for a solo shot in the third. He also helped his own cause with two hits in three at-bats, including an RBI double in the second. The right-hander has enjoyed a solid sophomore campaign overall, although Wednesday's outing was arguably his best of his four June starts. His ERA has crept up this month-- from 2.37 to 3.11 --but Ross continues to provide strong outings more often than not. He'll look to get back into the win column versus the Mets next Tuesday.
