Cubs' Jason Heyward: Held out Friday

Heyward is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Pirates, according to MLB.com's Carrie Muskat.

Analysis:

Heyward went just 2-for-14 over his last three games, so manager Joe Maddon decided to hold him out Friday and roll with an outfield full of right-handed hitters against Pirates starter Francisco Liriano. Albert Almora will get the start in right field in Heyward's place.
