Rangers' Ian Desmond: On base four more times, including homer Thursday

Desmond went 2-for-3 with his 10th homer, two walks and two runs against the A's on Thursday.

Analysis:

Last year, Desmond slumped to the worst numbers of his career by far, but the change of scenery to Texas has rejuvenated him in stunning fashion -- now he's on pace for a career year, with his current .867 OPS representing his best-ever mark aside from a small sample of games in 2009. Fantasy owners should easily get a 20-20 season out of Desmond, and the fact that he's cut down his strikeout rate dramatically from the last two seasons should help him maintain a solid average, albeit not the .314 he's sitting on now. Indeed, that .378 BABIP will normalize, but there's nothing in Desmond's profile at this point to suggest he'll see extreme regression.
