Rangers' Shin-Soo Choo: To join team in Oakland Monday

Choo (hamstring) completed his rehab assignment Saturday, but may not be active for Monday's matchup in Oakland, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

Analysis:

Choo played all nine innings both Friday and Saturday night for Triple-A Round Rock, so it appears that physically, the outfielder is ready to return. There are several circumstantial issues that may result in a slight delay, however. First, the Rangers will be facing lefty Sean Manaea, who would pose a matchup issue for Choo. Furthermore, it's possible Yu Darvish (shoulder) and Adrian Beltre (hamstring) may require stints on the DL, so the Rangers could wait for more information on either player, as it would potentially relate to a corresponding roster move. Regardless of how the exact situation plays out, Choo should begin seeing regular reps in right field in the near future for Texas.
