Blue Jays' Russell Martin: Out of lineup Friday

Martin is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Red Sox.

Analysis:

In his place, the Blue Jays will start Josh Thole behind the plate with knuckleballer R.A. Dickey on the mound for Toronto. Martin will get a well-earned day off since he has caught seven of the last eight games. The 33-year-old catcher is currently struggling at the dish, batting just .192 with three home runs and 14 RBI.
