Marlins' Edwin Jackson: Designated for assignment

Jackson was designated for assignment Tuesday, Clark Spencer of the Miami Herald reports.

Analysis:

Jackson's move was the result of Mike Dunn returning from the disabled list Tuesday. If Jackson passes through waivers unclaimed, he will likely end up at Triple-A New Orleans. While he was a member of the Marlins this season, Jackson posted a 5.91 ERA during 10.2 innings out of the bullpen.
