White Sox's Nate Jones: Takes first loss of season against Royals

Jones took his first loss of the season Sunday against Kansas City after allowing three runs on three hits (and two walks) while recording just one out.

Analysis:

He was given the ball to start the eighth inning of a two-run game, and he left with a one-run deficit. The appearance saw Jones throw a season-high 29 pitches, and it was just his sixth appearance this season in which he did not record a strikeout. His velocity still stuck close to triple digits, though, and the outing should do nothing to jar him from his eighth-inning role.
