Royals' Edinson Volquez: Get no-decision despite quality start Sunday
Volquez (5-4) gave up three runs on seven hits and a walk over six innings Sunday, striking out five, but came away with a no-decision in a 5-4 win over the White Sox.
Analysis:
As per usual, Volquez kept the ball on the ground, generating double-digit groundballs for the fourth straight start and ninth time in 11 outings this season. He was in line to take the loss Sunday, getting outdueled by Chris Sale, but the Royals were able to stage another late-inning rally to get him off the hook. Volquez will next take to the mound Friday in Cleveland.
