Athletics' Rich Hill: Diagnosed with mild groin strain

Hill suffered a mild groin strain during Sunday's game against the Tigers, CSN California's Joe Stiglich reports.

Analysis:

Hill was removed from the game during the middle of an at-bat in the seventh inning, after he appeared to injure his plant leg while throwing a pitch. Though the injury isn't initially thought to be serious, Oakland's surprising ace may not be ready for his next start, which is tentatively scheduled for Saturday in Houston. Hill still managed to earn his eighth win of the season, giving up two runs on five hits and three walks over 6.1 innings, with nine strikeouts on 104 pitches.
