Giants' Buster Posey: Carries offense with two homers Saturday

Posey had a huge day at the plate Saturday, going 2-for-5 with a pair of three-run shots in a 10-5 win over the Rockies.

Analysis:

Posey was the difference Saturday, carrying the offense with two opposite-field homers and driving in six of the team's 10 runs. His slash line was .264/.326/.434 coming into this game, so he hasn't been the dominant force at catcher we are used to seeing. A .270 BABIP - which is over 50 points lower than his career average - may be the main culprit here, as his walk, strikeout and contact rates are all on par with his career averages. Posey was also pulling the ball more than he had at any point of his career (46.5 Pull%), so the fact that both of his home runs were launched to the opposite field may be a sign he is adjusting back to his usual approach at the plate.
