Cardinals' Adam Wainwright: Wins fifth game of season

Wainwright (5-3) allowed four runs on six hits over the course of seven innings against the Nationals on Saturday. He struck out five.

Analysis:

Wainwright had problems with the long ball - allowing three - but other than that, it was a solid start for the 34-year-old righty. Even though this season has been a disappointment for him and his 5.71 ERA, Wainwright seems to be on the right track with seven runs allowed on 19.2 innings across his last three starts. He will look to keep it going in his next start against the Giants on Friday.
