Blue Jays' Aaron Sanchez: Quality in no-decision against Boston

Sanchez (4-1) allowed four runs (three earned) on five hits Friday, walking two and striking out six over 6.2 innings, but was left with a no-decision against the Red Sox.

Analysis:

Sanchez pitched well before appearing to tire a bit in the seventh inning. His pitches weren't as crisp in that frame, although he nearly escaped before Christian Vazquez bounced a high hopper over the mound and into center field to plate a pair of runs and chase Sanchez. The Red Sox would eventually tie the score, eliminating his win, before Toronto put the game away in the eighth inning. Sanchez has a very respectable 3.29 ERA and has been a staff leader so far this season, but the Jays are already looking to reduce his workload and conserve innings going forward. He'll take on the Yankees at the Rogers Centre in his next scheduled start.
