A-Rod bat flips after monster HR off Archer

Alex Rodriguez waited nearly a month to hit his sixth home run of the season, so he spent a little more time than usual enjoying it.

Playing in his second game since returning from the disabled list - and only his fourth contest of May - A-Rod unleashed a mammoth two-run homer to deep center at Tropicana Field on Friday, before capping the blast off Rays starter Chris Archer with a prolonged celebration complete with a pose and bat flip.

The 441-foot blast, which according to MLB StatCast had an exit velocity of 107.9 mph, was the 693rd homer of A-Rod's career, and his first since May 1.

"That’s my version of a bat flip," A-Rod told reporters after the Yankees' win. "At 40, you don’t have too much cool."

Prior to rejoining the Yankees on Thursday, Rodriguez celebrated his minor-league home run Wednesday with similar flair.
