Diamondbacks' Shelby Miller: Officially placed on DL Friday

Miller (finger) was placed on the 15-day disabled list Friday.

Analysis:

As expected, Miller will head to the DL for what is now being classified as a right finger sprain. It's unclear how severe the injury is, but a timetable for his return should become clearer once he's able to begin throwing again. The Diamondbacks reinstated Josh Collmenter from the DL and called up Dominic Leone and Silvino Bracho from Triple-A Reno to solidify the bullpen until Sunday when they need another starter, at which point they may call up Archie Bradley from the minors.
