Pirates' Gregory Polanco: Shifting down in lineup

Polanco will hit seventh Thursday against the Diamondbacks, Adam Berry of MLB.com reports.

Analysis:

Polanco has been on a tear in the month of May and has eight hits over his last four games, but the Pirates will move him down in the order with an opposing lefty on the mound Thursday. David Freese will hit in Polanco's usual No. 3 spot, while Jordy Mercer will assume leadoff duties with John Jaso getting the day off.
