Cardinals' Mitch Harris: Transferred to 60-day DL Wednesday

Harris (arm) was transferred to the 60-day disabled list Wednesday, Rob Rains of STLSportsPage.com reports.

Analysis:

The Cardinals needed a spot on the 40-man roster for recently-acquired Jose Martinez, and with a return date still a ways away for Harris, the right-hander will head to the 60-day DL to clear space. He's still making steady (albeit slow) progress in his throwing program, so if all goes well, he could head on a rehab assignment in a few weeks.
