Tigers' Justin Upton: Unlikely to play Wednesday

Manager Brad Ausmus announced that Upton (quadriceps) is unlikely to return to the lineup Wednesday, Jason Beck of MLB.com reports.

Analysis:

According to Beck, Upton's quadriceps issue is not a major reason for concern at this time, but the Tigers are being cautious with the outfielder so as to not aggravate the injury any further. Mike Aviles will start in left Tuesday, but Steven Moya is another option to take Upton's spot in the outfield while he is sidelined. If Upton sits out Wednesday, the team's travel day Thursday would make Friday the next earliest day for him to return.
