Padres DJ apologizes for anthem miscue with gay choir
The Petco Park DJ who played a woman's voice singing the U.S. national anthem over a gay men's chorus during a pregame ceremony Sunday has issued an apology for the incident.
DJ Artform spoke to NBC San Diego reporter Artie Ojeda on Monday, expressing "sincere regret" for the error. Ojeda posted the apology in its entirety to his Facebook page.
"My deepest apologies and sincere regret toward the entire San Diego Gay Men's Chorus and the LGBT community for the incident that occurred during the national anthem. It was a very unfortunate mistake but it was just that, an error," Artform said. "I in no way, shape or form directed any type of hate, bad intent or discrimination towards the chorus or anyone involved. The incident was not a representation of myself, San Diego, and its amazing baseball fans.
"I have felt the consequences of my mistake as a dream job has dissolved before my eyes which does not take away that I am extremely sorry for the horrible mistake that occurred."

A report surfaced earlier Monday stating MLB is launching an investigation to determine if the incident was done intentionally.
The San Diego Padres fired the contractor for the error.
