Cubs' Jason Heyward: Will avoid DL stint

Heyward (hip) is expected to miss 3-5 days after an MRI revealed a hip contusion, Gordon Wittenmyer of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Analysis:

Heyward slammed into the wall after making a spectacular catch Friday night, and he limped off the field favoring his right side. An MRI on Saturday showed that he avoided any serious injury, so Heyward will likely take a few days off to rest before returning to action sometime in the next week.
