Cubs' John Lackey: Delivers six strong innings in no-decision

Lackey held the Brewers to one run on four hits over six innings Wednesday, but received no decision in an eventual 12-inning win. He struck out five and walked two.

Analysis:

The numbers Lackey's putting up so far this season are startling for a 37-year-old who's had a lengthy, but ultimately middling career. He's never put up a WHIP under 1.16 and owns a lifetime mark of 1.31, but has a ridiculous 0.98 supporting his 3.31 ERA this year. Although the peripherals don't particularly undermine those ratios, with the amount of data we've got on Lackey, it's hard to imagine him not regressing to the mean.
