Nationals' Daniel Murphy: Enjoys big night against familiar foe
Murphy went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI against the Tigers on Wednesday.
Analysis:
He got slotted in the cleanup spot against a familiar face in former National Jordan Zimmerman, whom Murphy had seen quite a lot of in his tenure with the Mets. He's killed Zimmermann in his career, as Murphy's now 22-for-64 (.344) with four homers and 11 RBI against the veteran righty. He's also been one of the hottest hitters on the planet in general this year, as Murphy pushed his average back over the .400 mark (.409). The guy's doing a legitimately passable Ted Williams impersonation right now.
