Cubs' John Lackey: Wins fourth for streaking Cubs
Lackey (4=1) allowed two runs on six hits, walking one and striking out 11 over seven innings of an 8-6 win over Washington on Friday afternoon.
Analysis:
Lackey needed 111 pitches (75 strikes) to cover the seven innings, but he settled in after a bit of a rough start, and his teammates turned on the offense. Lackey has been the picture of inconsistency so far this season, posting four solid starts while being torched for six runs in each of his other two. He'll try to build on this effort when he takes on the Padres at Wrigley Field next time out.
