Red Sox's Chris Young: Red Sox facing three lefties

With the White Sox scheduled to throw three left-handed starters, Young is expected to get a significant number of at-bats in Boston's three-game series beginning Tuesday.

Analysis:

Young should start all three games, spelling Brock Holt in left field or Jackie Bradley in center. Young was signed in the offseason for his ability to hit left-handers, but Boston hasn't faced many southpaws early on, leaving him with just 29 plate appearances. It hasn't helped that when he has been given an opportunity, Young is just 5-of-27 with 10 strikeouts. The Red Sox hope to see Young jump-start his bat with a string of regular plate appearances.
