Athletics' Kendall Graveman: Struggles for second straight start

Graveman (1-3) struggled for the second straight start Monday, allowing four runs on 10 hits in 6.1 innings while striking out six and walking one in a loss to the Mariners.

Analysis:

Graveman has been way too hittable lately, allowing 10 hits in each of his last two outings after surrendering that many total in his first three starts combined. The 25-year-old is flashing an increased K/9 of 7.85 after managing only a 5.99 mark in 2015, but that increased strikeout rate won't do Graveman much good if he continues to fail to pitch deep into games. He'll have his work cut out for him if he wants to turn things around in his next start Sunday at Baltimore.
