Blue Jays' Russell Martin: Out of lineup Monday

Martin is out of the lineup Monday against the Rangers, Brendan Kennedy of the Toronto Star reports.

Analysis:

With knuckleballer R.A. Dickey on the bump for Toronto, Martin will cede the start behind the plate to Josh Thole. Martin has historically been a decent fantasy catcher, but his .143 batting average going along with only one extra-base hit this season is reducing his value greatly. He doesn't appear to be in danger of losing his job, considering Thole is only hitting .185, but it will be tough to justify a starting role for Martin in many fantasy leagues until he can turn things around at the plate.
