Reynolds is out of the lineup Sunday against the Diamondbacks, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports.

Analysis:

Reynolds had enjoyed a relatively firm grip on the first base job while Charlie Blackmon was on the DL, as his counterpart, Ben Paulsen, was receiving regular starts in the outfield. With Blackmon back in his regular role, however, the competition at first base might start to heat up, and it will be Paulsen that draws the start on Sunday afternoon. Reynolds has been performing admirably at the plate, owning a three-game hitting streak, though his 31.6% strikeout rate is right in line with his career mark. It will likely take more than a couple solid games from Paulsen to put the playing time of Reynolds at risk.
