Orlando City captain Kaka isn't a fan of the way Real Madrid supporters heap criticism on Cristiano Ronaldo despite the Portuguese star's continued exemplary performances.

"Cristiano is a great player and I'm not just talking about his quality, but what he has contributed to Real Madrid," Kaka said of his former teammate, as quoted by Sky Sports. "I'd like to see supporters show more respect to Cristiano for what he has done for this club. Hearing people boo Cristiano is not right after everything he has done for this club.

"When you go out to play for Real Madrid you know what it's like, it's not just like that with Cristiano, it has been like that with (Zinedine) Zidane, Raul, (Iker) Casillas ... it has always been like that. The only thing I would like is to see a little more appreciation of what Cristiano has done there, which is a lot."

The Orlando star also touched on the future of another former teammate in the Spanish capital.

Having successfully recruited former Brazilian international Julio Baptista to the Lions, Kaka has now turned his attention to Spain's most iconic goalkeeper, who played alongside him for four years at Real Madrid.

"I would like Casillas to come (to MLS) next year, but he told me he wants to stay in Portugal and play a little bit," Kaka told Cadena Cope, as quoted by Fox Sports. "I think he likes the idea of coming to play here. In five or 10 years, the MLS will be the strongest in the world."
