French international attacker Antoine Griezmann salvaged the three points for the home side Sunday, as his injury-time winner was enough to save face for Atletico Madrid against visitor Sporting Gijon.

Atletico defender Diego Godin's slight touch sprung a cutting Griezmann, who lunged to head it as Gijon shot-stopper Ivan Cuellar was just inches from getting a hand on the ball.

The three points help Atletico keep pace with La Liga giants Real Madrid and Barcelona, with Diego Simeone's side sitting four points off the table-topping Catalans.
