VIDEO: Seydou Keita refuses to shake hands with Pepe once again
Roma midfielder Seydou Keita refused to shake hands with Real Madrid defender Pepe as the two teams met for a match Saturday in the International Champions Cup in Melbourne, Australia.
The game finished 0-0 and the two teams went to a penalty shootout to decide a winner, where Keita ignored Madrid's controversial defender, walking away quickly before any pleasantries could be exchanged.
Keita had good reason to snub the formalities of a friendly handshake with Pepe standing in front of him. It's not the first time, either, after Pepe allegedly spit on Keita and called him a monkey during his time at Barcelona.
"I really don't see why I should have to shake his hand, since in his eyes I'm not a human being", Keita told reporters in Spain last year. "I have no interest in discussing things with a person who doesn't consider me a human being. The way he behaves is out of order. Instead of coming over and asking me why I didn't shake his hand, he chose to spit at me."
Keita got the last laugh in the end, scoring the winning penalty to give Roma a 7-6 victory.
