Report: Disgruntled Real Madrid fans punch, kick Gareth Bale's car after Clasico loss

Reuters

Real Madrid fans are, not surprisingly, upset with the club's 2-1 loss to Barcelona in Sunday's Clasico at the Camp Nou. Such is the nature of the historic rivalry. A loss can have that effect.

This, however, is a step too far.

Spanish newspaper AS, citing television station Cuatro, claims that Welsh winger Gareth Bale had his car punched and kicked by fans who were awaiting the team's arrival at their Valdebebas training ground in the early hours of Monday morning.

AS explains the situation:

Fans were shouting at the players when they left the training base in their cars, hurling insults and also hitting the car of Gareth Bale according to images captured by television channel Cuatro.

Marca, though not physically, were equally harsh in their assessment of Bale following Sunday's match – in which the world's most expensive player faded badly in the second half, becoming a complete non-factor after the interval.
