As obvious as it sounds, there will come a day when Lionel Messi can no longer be declared the best footballer on the planet.

It won't be today. It won't be tomorrow. It probably won't be anytime soon. But at some point, the Rosario, Argentina native will be dethroned.

So, who's next in line?

Well, according to Messi himself, it's a realistic possibility that Neymar, the Brazilian phenom with whom he's formed the most lethal partnership in world football, "could become the best in the world."

Messi's comments came while he was speaking to the media during the presentation of a new deal between Gillette and Barcelona. He also stated that the addition of Neymar has given him more opportunity to play a pass that results in a goal.

The pair have combined for 11 of the Catalan club's goals this season, while Messi has also registered six assists. Barcelona sits atop La Liga and hasn't conceded a single goal.
