Wednesday marks the anniversary of Lionel Messi's arrival at Barcelona as it was on this day in 2001 that the 13-year-old Argentine joined the Spanish giants.

Messi only had to wait four years to make his senior debut in front of the home fans at the Nou Camp when he appeared in Barcelona's Champions League fixture against Udinese in Sept. 2005.

His career has been nothing short of spectacular since then after helping the Catalans capture six La Liga titles and three Champions League trophies to go along with a trio of FIFA Ballon d'Or awards.
