There's just no separating these two heavyweights.

Manchester City and Real Madrid, level at 4-4 on aggregate, went to a shootout to decide which team would grab the last semifinal berth on offer in this season's Champions League.

Kevin De Bruyne scored from close range in the 76th minute to cancel out Rodrygo's first-half goal at the Etihad on Wednesday, sending the thrilling quarterfinal to extra time, where neither squad could break the deadlock.

The winner will play Bayern Munich in the semifinals after the German club eliminated Arsenal in the day's concurrent match.
