Fears of further managerial turnover at Valencia were quelled Tuesday when the Spanish outfit announced current interim head coach Voro Gonzalez will retain his position until at least the end of the 2016-17 La Liga season.

Gonzalez was given the helm of the club on an interim basis - his fifth temporary charge at Valencia - when manager Cesare Prandelli requested a surprise resignation in December.

"Valencia CF wish to reaffirm the club's absolute backing for Voro Gonzalez as first-team coach until the end of the present season," the club wrote in a statement posted on its official website.

"The club also wish to stress its total confidence in the ability of the squad and the coaching staff to improve the sporting performance over the coming months with the intention of overcoming the delicate current sporting situation."

Stability will certainly be welcome at the club, even in the time frame of months instead of years, as Valencia currently sits just one point out of the relegation zone after enduring yet another torrid regular-season campaign.

Gonzalez is the club's third head coach this season after both Prandelli and Pako Ayestaran commanded the team earlier.
