Felipe Caicedo's time at RCDE Stadium might come to a close in January.

Jordi Lardin, Espanyol's sporting director, admitted the Catalan club is willing to part ways with Caicedo should the right offer come along, according to M. Carmen Torres from Marca. The Ecuadorian forward, full of goals in past seasons, is struggling to find minutes under Quique Sanchez Flores, holding only 11 appearances to his name in the 2016-17 La Liga, three of which were as a substitute.

"Caicedo is a player of ours and if he comes to us saying he has an offer, we'll assess it and if it's good, reach an agreement," Lardin said. "There's little we can do in that case. But we're confident he will recover for the group, with his goals ... but we don't want any unhappy players. None. If he decides the offer is acceptable and appetising and gives it to us, we'll look at it. But as of today, there is nothing on the table."

A target man who lacks mobility but compensates with his size and strength, Caicedo finds himself behind Gerard Moreno in Espanyol's pecking order. The native of Guayaquil, Ecuador tallied no fewer than 17 goals through his first two La Liga seasons with the club, but, despite having scored six goals for Ecuador in 2018 World Cup qualifying, is having a hard time in his third year.

A pair of clubs from the Chinese Super League - Tianjin Songjiang and Beijing Guoan - are ready to pay €10 million for Caicedo as well as an annual salary of €5 million, according to Sport.
