Report: Real Madrid targeting Dortmund's Demblele

Borussia Dortmund is going to face some stiff competition to keep Ousmane Dembele if he continues his blistering start to life in Germany.

Spanish giant Real Madrid has reportedly identified the young French forward as a possible transfer target for the future, a source told ESPNFC's Eren Sarigul.

But Los Blancos may have to wait more than a year before submitting an offer. The club, along with city rival Atletico Madrid, has been blocked from registering new players after breaching FIFA's rules regarding the protection of youth players.

Although the Madrid teams were issued one-year transfer bans - meaning they will have to wait until the January 2018 transfer window to open before making any additions - the final decision is up to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, which will decide whether or not to overturn the initial ruling.

Real could still come up short in a possible bid to lure Demebele away from Dortmund after the 19-year-old's recent admission that his goal is to one day play for Barcelona.

"Not now, because I want to grow and be a protagonist every Sunday. But one day I will play for Barcelona," Dembele said in a recent interview with Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo.

Since joining Dortmund on a five-year deal from Ligue 1 side Rennes for roughly €15 million, Dembele has found the back of the net two times in all competitions while setting up his teammates with another four goals.
