Neymar confirms he met with PSG, others before signing new Barca deal

Paris Saint-Germain was just one of several teams to court Barcelona star Neymar during the summer transfer window.

The Brazilian confirmed that he met with representatives from the French champions, adding that PSG was one of an unspecified number of teams he spoke to before deciding to commit his future to Barcelona by agreeing to a new five-year contract in the summer.

"Yes, we had discussions with many people, not just one (with PSG)," Neymar told reporters at a new conference Thursday.

"But I decided to stay at Barca because I feel at home here. I'm happy with my teammates and I'm Barca man."

The revelation follows comments from Neymar's agent, Wagner Ribeiro, who said Manchester United also attempted to lure the 24-year-old away the Camp Nou.

Despite Ribeiro's candid remarks which disclosed there was a lucrative €40-million-a-year deal, including other bonuses, on the table, Neymar was unwilling to delve into the details of PSG's offer, or any other one that was presented to him.

"I can't confirm the numbers given by Wagner Ribeiro because I don't like talking about figures," he said.

"Like I've said I was in talks with many teams, (PSG) wasn't the only one. But I decided to stay here; I'm happy here."

Neymar's new contract, which he signed in July, is designed to keep him in Barcelona until 2021.
