RCD Espanyol welcomed a new face to its ranks for the 2016-17 La Liga season, announcing on Tuesday the club has signed free-agent winger Jose Antonio Reyes to a two-year contract.
The 32-year-old Spanish attacker has enjoyed spells at Sevilla, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, and Arsenal over the years, most recently playing with the 2015-16 Europa League-winning Sevilla team under Unai Emery.
He left the club at the end of the 2015-16 La Liga campaign after his contract with Sevilla expired. He now joins an Espanyol team looking to improve on a 13th-place finish last season.
