Bayern Munich: We will not sell Lewandowski

Bayern Munich moved swiftly to reject speculation involving Robert Lewandowski and a possible move away after the Polish international's agent hinted at a potential transfer to Real Madrid.

Chief executive officer Karl-Heinz Rummenigge insisted Lewandowski, who has three years remaining on his contract, will remain at the Allianz Arena next season and that Bayern will not permit a move to Real, or any club hoping to snatch the 27-year-old away.

"One thing I know for sure -- Robert Lewandowski will play at Bayern Munich in the coming season," Rummenigge told German outlet kicker, as translated by ESPNFC.

"The decision has been made. We will not sell Robert Lewandowski. No matter which offer we will receive. There is no pain barrier."

Lewandowski's agent, Cezary Kucharski, spoke with German publication Der Spiegel and suggested a move could be on the horizon after holding talks with the Spanish side. The Polish forward also hinted at a move when he reportedly said he was thinking about trying "something new".

Lewandowski, who joined Bayern from Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund in 2014, led Germany's top flight in scoring and became the first non-German to bag 30 goals.
