Marseille's Ocampos faces 2 months out with ankle injury
Marseille - Marseille's Argentine winger Lucas Ocampos is set to be sidelined for two months after damaging ligaments in his left ankle, the Ligue 1 club's coach Michel said on Tuesday.
"He has damaged ankle ligaments. My experience in football tells me he will have it for at least two months, but I'm not a doctor so I'm not going to make a prognosis," Michel said ahead of Wednesday's League Cup clash at Toulouse.
Ocampos, 21, suffered the injury during the first half of Sunday's 0-0 draw against Guingamp but has yet to undergo an MRI scan because his ankle is still too swollen, the club added.
The injury brings an end to speculation that Ocampos could leave the French side on loan to Fiorentina following his underwhelming first season.
Since arriving at the Stade Velodrome following his move from AS Monaco before the season, Ocampos has only managed one goal in 16 Ligue 1 appearances.
