Report: United rejects Lyon's approach for unsettled Depay

Manchester United is not budging on its reported £15-million valuation of wantaway winger Memphis Depay.

Lyon tabled a bid Thursday considered well below the Red Devils' asking price for the Dutchman, sources told Sky Sports.

However, ESPN FC's Mark Ogden believes Lyon is the only club that's willing to sign Depay outright - which could give the Ligue 1 outift some leverage in the negotiation process.

Other interested clubs, including Roma, AC Milan, Everton, and Nice, have not considered anything more than an initial loan deal, according to Ogden.

Depay told United manager Jose Mourinho in no uncertain terms he would like to leave in January.

He has started just a single match for United this season - a result of Mourinho's decision to sideline the player until he and the club resolve his future.

But the Portuguese indicated he would gladly keep Depay if a suitable offer doesn't arrive.

Lyon has also opened talks with fellow United outcast Adnan Januzaj, who is currently on loan at Premier League relegation-battler Sunderland.

Januzaj's agent said earlier Thursday that Lyon is one of "several clubs" who've "sounded out the plans of Adnan" during the transfer window.

Depay is naturally a left winger, while Januzaj tends to occupy the right. Currently, manager Bruno Genesio has Nabil Fekir and Rachid Ghezzal as options on the flanks.

Ghezzal is out of contract at the end of the season.
