Michael Schumacher continues to make strides in recovery from the life-threatening injuries he sustained in a skiing accident last year.

The seven-time World Champion driver will continue his rehabilitation program at home following his release from the University Hospital of Lausanne, according to a statement released by his management team.

Via SkySports' William Esler:

Considering the severe head injuries he suffered, progress has been made in the past weeks and months. There is still, however, a long and difficult road ahead. We would like to extend our gratitude to the entire team at CHUV Lausanne for their thorough and competent work.

Schumacher woke from a medically-induced coma in June and was transferred to Lausanne to be closer to family.
