Klopp 'not interested' in Daniel Sturridge exit talk

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp would not be drawn on speculation Friday that Daniel Sturridge could leave the club, revealing the striker has been back to training at Melwood for the past two days.

Klopp was "not interested" in reports suggesting relations were strained between the oft-injured 26-year-old and the club's medical team, with the former apparently jaded by repeatedly partaking in fitness training alone.

Sturridge's injury woes have seen him not take the pitch since a 2-0 loss at Newcastle United on Dec. 6, and has made just three starts over the course of the Premier League campaign.

"Why should I think about that? Who has suggested that? If somebody asks me something about this, I'm not interested in 'suggestions' - (there's) nothing to say," Klopp said.

"Daniel's back in training for two days, it's great - so everything looks good at the moment."

Sturridge has also been joined by Philippe Coutinho and Divock Origi in training, meaning the trio will soon be lending a boost to a strikeforce that has gone goalless in each of its last three competitive outings.

"What each player needs is consistent training - that's normal. We tried everything we could to bring him back to training and now we are in a (position) where we hope we can get the benefit," Klopp said.

Liverpool welcomes Sunderland to Anfield on Saturday, with the visitor unfortunate to lose 1-0 to Manchester City last time out after putting in an improved, disciplined display at the back.
