Manchester City to call upon David Silva, Yaya Toure for Everton clash

Although depleted in other areas of the lineup, Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini is able to draft David Silva and Yaya Toure into the squad for Wednesday's visit of Everton.

The dangerous duo was sidelined for Saturday's 3-0 win at Norwich City in the FA Cup third round, but return for the Premier League's mid-week fixture.

"It was good to rest both of them as they're in the squad list for tomorrow - we'll see who will be in the XI but we have to play two games so close together so we'll see," Pellegrini told reporters.

"Silva is 100 percent fit - maybe it's a risk for him to play Wednesday to Saturday."

With Silva's creativity and Toure's strength, they pose some of the greatest threats in City's considerable weaponry. It is hoped their attacking prowess can compensate for the lack of options in defence, as the aged Martin Demichelis will partner Nicolas Otamendi at the back.

Pellegrini is confident that his team can avenge a 2-1 loss against the same opposition a week earlier this Wednesday.

"Everton has a style of play, they're an attacking team under Roberto (Martinez)," he said. "They have players in a very good moment so we must be very careful with their counter attack. We must try to score more goals and do more damage to their defence but also be a balanced team.

"On a good day with a normal performance, it will be a tough game, but I think we can win."
